Hello there Friends + Colleagues! The wait is over—our brand new Support Group for Parents of Trans & Non-Binary Children is officially launching, and we’re so excited for you to join us!

This virtual group is to be facilitated by our incredible President, Casey Weitzman, MA, LMFT and our amazing VP, Grace O’Connor, MA, LMFT.

Who is this group for?

This group is focused on parents and/or caregivers of transgender or non-binary young people.

Where and when will the group meet?

The group will be conducted virtually, and is open to all California residents. The group will meet every other Wednesday from 6 to 7:30pm, PST.

Why focus on parents?

When your kid transitions, so do you. Coming out doesn’t just affect the family unit. As the parent of a transgender kid, you might find yourself needing to advocate for your child at school, in your social circle, and with other family members.

What impact do supportive parents have on trans children?

It is well-known that transgender youth face significant mental health disparities, including higher rates of depression, anxiety, and suicidality. When parental support is available to young TGD+ folks, we can decrease these symptoms and create a kinder, more compassionate & more educated world!

When does the group meet and how much does it cost?

This group will have its first meeting on Wednesday, May 6th and meet every other week for 8 sessions. We ask that you commit to attend most or all of the meetings in order to make it fair to those who are waitlisted. The cost of the group can be found below on our flyer.

Can I invite my friends who also have trans kids to join?

Absolutely! Spots in this intimate group are LIMITED, so please do not wait to register!
