A Note from a “Proud Mom”

A Note from a “Proud Mom”

IT’S HUMBLING AND ESPECIALLY GRATIFYING TO WORK WITH KIDS AND THEIR FAMILIES

I love the work that I do! I receive such an immense sense of gratification in helping my clients tackle the challenges that accompany gender identity concerns. It is NEVER easy and it is truly a unique journey for every one of them — and for me, too.

That said, there’s an unmistakable added sense of joy when I get to work with transgender / gender-diverse kids, which happens to be more and more these days. Growing up is hard for most children, but you can imagine the difficulty that, for example, a trans teen likely experiences as they mature on many levels, simultaneously. In addition to the child, there’s always interaction with the parents. When I can affirmatively understand that a FAMILY emerges stronger and more stable, as a result of the care I’ve been able to provide, it is soulfully satisfying.

So, it with great pride that I share with this short note from a “proud mom” (with her permission, of course) that I received recently.

Truly touched!
