Hello and Happy New Year to all! Welcome to a recap of GWLA’s favorite moments of 2025.

Our Year in Review: Let’s face it, 2025 was loaded with momentous wins and devastating challenges alike.
From celebrating our community during Pride events, to unexpected natural disasters, to seemingly endless political attacks on our transgender and queer communities. There have been achievements and challenges, all reminders of the strength and resilience of the LGBTQIA+ community in Los Angeles (and everywhere).
Gender Wellness of Los Angeles has always exuded pride in who we are and the communities we serve. The year demonstrated that our work and commitment matters more than ever.
Here’s a look at our 2025…

March: Trans Day of Visibility
March felt like a breath of fresh air. Samaria and Courtney tabled at Otis College of Art and Design for a special Trans Day of Visibility event. Casey paid a visit to the UCLA Gender Health Program.

April: Building a Brand
During the month of April, GWLA received a few once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. At one of our team building events, we met with Cameron Kostopulos of “Body of Mine,” an award-winning immersive VR experience that depicts gender dysphoria. We also guested on an episode of the ‘No Matter What Club’ to discuss substance use within the trans community. Finally, we were honored with a primetime placement on ABC 7 News to discuss the 988 Crisis Line’s importance to the LGBTQ+ community.

May: Wins Across the Board!
What a month! In May, we hosted our second Annual Speed Friending event for queer & trans folks in collaboration with the LA LGBT Center’s Trans Lounge. (Stay tuned for another chance to attend this year.) We also appeared in Rolling Stone Magazine, perhaps our biggest press feature to date!

June: Pride Month
June is (naturally) our busiest and most favorite month. We attended many Pride events in 2025, including Dodger Stadium Pride, Disneyland Pride Night, Trans Pride LA, and No Matter What Recovery’s Pride Party. We also hosted Spectrum 1 News for an exclusive taping at our offices.

July-September: Networking with Our Peers
Post LA Pride-season, our team focused on connecting with other gender-affirming providers, such as Dr. Horowitz (Hormone Specialist), Dana Elise (Electrolysis), Robyn Goldberg, RD (Eating Disorder Expert & Dietician), Miriam’s House (Women’s Sober Living Facility) & Friendly House LA (Women’s Addiction Treatment Center).
October: Pride, Part Two!
October brought even more queer events to Los Angeles. Therapists Kate Logan & Kenyai O’Neal attended Open Space Therapy Collective’s Queerly Connected Open House Event. Models of Pride is one of our favorite events to table at each year, and “A Fall Affair” was hosted with No Matter What Recovery to highlight queer & trans joy in the wellness and recovery space.

November: Gratitude for Our Community
In November, our team was honored to attend the Trans Latin@ Coalition’s Annual GARRAS Fashion Show. Translatable Project (Dwayne & Zaya Wade) surprised us with tickets to the Wicked Movie Premiere at the Grove AMC. Casey visited the LGBTQIA+ affirming Kol Ami Temple on Trans Day of Remembrance.

December: New Horizons…
We closed out the year with a fabulous holiday celebration. Our team attended a Drag Show at Hamburger Mary’s WeHo and danced the night away. We enjoyed attending other local organizations’ holiday parties, including those from WAAT (Women’s Association for Addiction Treatment) and Miriam’s House.
We’re Ready For You, 2026!

Thank you to each client, individual, and organization who helped make this year one of our biggest and brightest yet. It has been a challenging year as gender-affirming care providers. We saw hospital shut downs, care bans in many states, and prolific hate and violence. However, we are still here. YOU are still here.
This hasn’t been an easy chapter, but please remember that our team of therapists is standing alongside you in solidarity and support. We can’t wait to make an even bigger impact in 2026.
Take care & be well,
— Team GWLA
